2005 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
March 1	Application deadline (postmarked by March 1)
April 1	Notification of participants
mid-late May	Orientation Weekend held at Washington University in St. Louis Attendance at this event is required of all participants.
early June	Program begins, students initiate research at home institution with research adviser.
mid-June	Participants travel to Japan to begin research. Orientation will be held in Japan on the first day.
about June 20	Participants take technical tours in Tokyo area.
mid-July	Young Engineers Research Symposium and Closing Ceremony (co-sponsored by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science).
mid-July	Participants return to the US to complete research at home institution.
late July	Program completion. All research projects should be completed.
early August	Deadline for all research reports and presentations.
