This summer the Department of Civil Engineering at Washington University is hosting a STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH EXPERIENCES FOR UNDERGRADUATES (REU) PROGRAM, sponsored by the National Science Foundation. Undergraduates have the opportunity to conduct a 10-week research project on a state-of-the-art topic under the guidance of a faculty member. Participants are provided with a stipend, a relocation allowance, and housing allowance, and housing can be pre-arranged. The application can be downloaded in .pdf format. To be eligible for the REU program, applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States or its possessions. Further, applicants must be enrolled full-time in a degree program leading to a bachelor's degree. Students who have received their bachelor's degree before the program can not be considered.
