Topics include: definitions of state, work, energy, entropy, temperature, heat interaction, and energy interaction. Applications to simple systems, phase rule, perfect and semi-perfect gas, bulk-flow systems, combustion, energy and entropy balances, availability analysis for thermo-mechanical power generation, and innovative energy-conversion schemes.
