Sasha Tereshchenko, a high school researcher in the 2008 STARS program, was awarded the Award of Distinction in the Howard County Science Fair (Maryland, March 2008). He will now move on to the Baltimore Region Science Fair competition. Sasha conducted a project on the design of a tuned mass damper system for seismic response reduction in the Earthquake Engineering and Structural Control Laboratory. Sasha was supervised by Mr. Nestor Castaneda.
